Some authors are very long-winded. When reading fiction, I read almost everything. It's those business books/personal development books that I can skip large chunks.la papillionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01372278083694506953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37872616.post-5985006037228272652021-01-24T10:21:55.814+08:002021-01-24T10:21:55.814+08:00Hi Eddie,

I see it as mental dumping of all the things I've read, then I moved on. I don't see how this can lead to FOMO so I've no experience in that.

I don't like reading magazines and news. I prefer long-form reading like books so that I can dive deeper. All those articles that can be read in one session in just info/entertainment I guess. You don't have to follow my way, because it's suited for me. You probably have to find your own way to navigate the information maze out there.la papillionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01372278083694506953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37872616.post-27457279883074367752021-01-23T23:37:59.964+08:002021-01-23T23:37:59.964+08:00Thanks for adding my blog, likewise have added you...Thanks for adding my blog, likewise have added yours too!

Also, thanks for sharing services like Blinkist! My wife has a charming personality and strangers will just walk up to her to tell her their deepest secrets. We'll be wondering what the heck just happened. I, however, have as much charm in person as a slimy, cold fish. I wouldn't be able to get much from people without warming up. Hence getting interesting ideas from people will depend on whether I have interesting friends and whether they stay with me long enough to warm up to my cold fish charms. Books will always be there for me, hence it's easier and more productive for me to get new ideas from books than from other people through conversations.

On the other hand, my wife usually can't finish a book from cover to cover. I told her once that if she finds it hard to sleep, just read a book lol

Hope that answers your question.la papillionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01372278083694506953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37872616.post-25675746404631652522021-01-21T19:49:52.654+08:002021-01-21T19:49:52.654+08:00Just wondering what do you think about getting ide...Just wondering what do you think about getting ideas from conversations with people vs reading? and what's your take on letting someone to cross check your ideas to identify blind spots?like what paul graham usually do...eddiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07676298476521695084noreply@blogger.com
